The TWINNEDbySTARS project has announced a high-level Synergy Workshop to be held on May 21st, 2026. Taking place at the Centro de Innovación Marino-Marítimo, this event serves as a strategic bridge between the Canary Islands and Martinique, aiming to establish cooperation opportunities that extend far beyond the project’s original scope.
Beyond TWINNEDbySTARS: A New Era of Cooperation
Moving away from a strictly project-based approach, the workshop will focus on the shared industrial and economic potential of both regions. Industry leaders and public authorities will discuss the blue economy as a primary driver for regional development, exploring projects like “Martinique Nautique” and the internationalisation of SMEs in Outermost Regions (ORs).
The day will feature keynote insights from experts such as Alexandre Ventadour (Martinique Développement) and representatives from the Maritime Clusters of both the Canary Islands and Martinique.
Actionable Industrial Synergy: Targeted B2B Tables
The highlight of the session will be the Cooperation and B2B Tables (15:00 – 16:00). These tables are specifically designed for technical exchange and partnership building in sectors that the Martinique delegation has identified as high priority:
- Offshore Wind Energy: Exploring partnerships for large-scale wind energy projects.
- Shipbuilding & Repair: Focusing on innovation and eco-construction within the naval industry.
- Environmental Protection: Addressing biodiversity, sargassum management, and coastal erosion.
- Marine Traditional Sports: Fostering alliances for the preservation of maritime culture and traditional sailing (La Yole & Vela Latina).
